As I was drifting into sleep, I heard a knock
” I am your dream, let me in “
I wanted to get up but couldn’t
It entered silently anyway, standing next to my bed,
it reached out to me .
Embracing me, held my hand, and pulled me up
we began to sing and dance
to the beat of our heart and rhythm of our breath
Drinking and laughing all night long
remembering the fun times we had
Moon got brighter
and stars twinkled endlessly watching us
Suddenly, alarm woke me up
I opened my eyes
realizing , its time to start the same daily routine
As I stood up
I felt the intense pain under my feet
I looked down
and there they were
Pieces of my broken dream
